North Shore NewsKahuku residents and their supporters have been protesting against the addition of another 8 industrial turbines for over 10 years. Kahuku already has 12 turbines. The 8 turbines will be 568 ft. making them the tallest in the U.S. Residents are protesting against multiplier impacts, including the proximity of these turbines that will be as close as 750 ft. to about 1750 ft. from public schools and 1648 ft. from esidential homes.
