Junior Paddlers Making a Difference in Their Community

Hale‘iwa Outrigger Canoe Club coaches and junior paddlers presented North Shore News with plenty of backpacks for the Operation: Backpack Project.

This season the junior paddlers from Wahiawa, Mililani, Waialua and Hale‘iwa areas forged a bond that has taken two of their crews to the Hawaii State Championships.

During their time on the water they have developed a deep connection and responsibility to their team, their community and the waters they have come to love.
