The John Kelly Awards celebrates environmental activism with an awards ceremony, dinner, and live music.
The 17th Annual John Kelly Awards is a fundraiser for Surfrider Foundation Oahu Chapter, a local non-profit
which works to protect our ocean, beaches and waves.

As a volunteer run organization, Surfrider relies on the support of its community to continue its work in
tackling plastic pollution, cleaning beaches, growing ocean friendly gardens, and ensuring clean water and
healthy beaches across Oahu for everyone to enjoy.

Held on Saturday, November 16, from 6-10pm at Waimea Valley, the 2019 John Kelly Awards will recognize
four awardees: Carissa Moore as the Surfer/Waterperson, Sierra Club Hawaii Chapter for the Community Wavemaker, Local I‘a as the Hawaii Business, and Ruth Gates for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year’s music headliner is local legend Henry Kapono. Noelani Love and Jerome James will also be providing music and local firedancers will help us close out the night with a performance. A sustainable dinner will be provided by Ke Nui Kitchen.

The event also features a premiere silent auction, which will offer round trip plane tickets, stays at resorts, surfboards, beautiful art, and more..

This event is open to the public until tickets sell out. Volunteer opportunities are also available. For tickets and more information, visit www.JohnKellyAwards.com.
