The last event for the Women’s World Tour, the Beachwaver Maui Pro, was what surfers call, insane! Tube after tube fired into beautiful Honolua Bay and Hawaii’s three time World Champ, Carissa Moore, took full advantage of every opportunity to get barreled, eventually winning the competition. Moore finished the season and the event with a perfect ten point ride without a tube. Yes it was insane. “It was a dream come true to get a 10. There was so much emotion at that point, I just started crying and I can’t thank the locals enough for letting us surf your beautiful wave. Nothing beats winning in the ocean in perfect surf.” Aussie surfer Stephanie Gilmore bowed out in the semi but won her 7th World Tour Title! Kauai’s Malia Manuel shined in the event making the final with Moore. The North Shores Zoe McDougall got a wild card into the event and surfed really well making a couple heats wowing the the crowd on the cliff. It was spectacular to watch all the ladies pulling into 6-8 foot tubes!
