What do you associate with hunting? Responsibility? Safety protocol? Respect for your surroundings? After taking DLNR’s Hunter Education Course you will. Volunteer instructors Jerry, Arlene, and Manny make the two-day class relatable and enjoyable through their witty teaching style. Their passion to produce safe, responsible hunters culminates in the Hunter’s Code of Ethics, the difference between legality and morality in the field, and respect. Our Hawaiian eco-system is interconnected with our ‘aina and people, and it is important to understand the hunter’s role in it. As a student we learn all of these things, and that hunting is a privilege. I strongly suggest every Hawai‘i resident to take this course.
