Grab your sneakers, get fit, and get moving! It’s time for Loko Ea Fishpond’s 2nd Annual Fun RunSunday, March 17, 2019. From the Keiki Fun Dash, the 2-Mile Walk, the 8K and 15K Run/Walk, there is an event for the whole ‘ohana!

The 8K and 15K feature scenic beach views, with both routes racing past Anahulu Bridge, Ali’i Beach,
Kaiaka Bay, the private grounds of Pua’ena Point, and Papa’iloa Beach. Participants in the 8K and 15K routes will receive a timing chip, a t-shirt, and a participation medal. For an additional cost, a catered breakfast and refreshments will also be available.

After the Fun Run, join Malama Loko Ea for an ‘Ohana Fun Day. Learn lauhala weaving, ku’i kalo (poi pounding) and gyotaku with fish from Loko Ea. Enjoy live entertainment, food and craft booths.

Proceeds will benefit ‘Amapo Ea—Malama Loko Ea Foundation’s campaign to deepen Loko Ea to an optimal depth for healthy fish growth. (Malama Loko Ea Foundation is Haleiwa’s own 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.) For more information, email Doreen@ lokoea.org or Rowena@lokoea.org.
