Local North Shore surfer and Billabong team rider, Luana Silva, is our new HSA State Champion in her age division, 12–13 year olds. Silva won the title at Ala Moana Bowls in the prestigious invitational competition that the Hawaii Surfing Association puts on every year. Surfers have to qualify for the event. The best Surfers from all the Hawaiian Islands compete for a chance to qualify for the National competition in Southern California. Another local surfer Angelina Yossa had a great season. The Waialua surfer placed first in three divisions in the Hawaii Surfing Association year-end ratings and placed second in two divisions at the HSA State Championship at Bowls. Yossa was first in her age group, 13-14, first in the Junior and first in the 15-16 division for the year. Yossa is also on the Waialua High School Team as team captain. Congratulations, way to represent Hawaii!
