North Shore residents will have another reason to “go EV” as Hawaiian Electric has opened its 10th utility-owned public electric vehicle fast charger on O‘ahu at Hale‘iwa Town Center. The Hale‘iwa fast charger can recharge an EV battery up to 43 miles in 15 minutes and offers charging at special rates, with lowest rates
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The addition of Hale‘iwa to Hawaiian Electric’s charging network is part of the company’s electrification of transportation strategic roadmap designed to reduce dependence on fossil fuel for transportation as well as electricity, and advance Hawai‘i to a clean, sustainable energy future.
